Tips About A Petri Dish Injection Automation Solutions

To prepare for a Petri dish auto-packing system, the Petri dish producer will prepare the documents:

  • The details of the injection molding machine for this project (Brand, Model No., Dimensional Parameters, Interface to Robot etc.)
  • The 3D file of the mold design (Not request for turn-key solutions)
  • The 3D drawing of the Petri dish and quality standard of the Petri dish
  • The sample and details of the packing material (material, thickness, size, how many sets per bag, sealing of the bag etc. )
  • The cycle time (Injection cycle time and the inmold time of the robot)
  • The system layout
    • If with a top entry picking robot, what's the height of the work shop
    • Will the packing system to be installed to the operator side or non-operator side of the injection molding machine?
    • The minimum distance between the injection molding machine and the Petri dish packing system

The Petri dish producer can decide to have a top entry picking robot or side entry picking robot for the Petri dish packing system according to the layout design of the mold and work shop. Any automation is designed for the bulk production of single size products, it would be the same for the Petri dish packing system. For small and medium size producers of Petri dish, a standard hot runner single plate mold is recommend with 4+4 or 8+8 mold layout design. With a single plate mold, the maintenance of both the mold and the automation system would be much easier for the small and medium sized producer of Petri dish.
